  • Learn basic Nordic walking technique in a single 2.5 hour session
  • You will learn the classic Nordic walking technique to turn walking, typically a lower body activity, into a full body aerobic experience.
    • You will navigate the three learning gates of Nordic walking: diagonal walking (synchronization of arms and legs), grip-go and the push-off, and optimization of your arm swing.
    • The clinic will help you take control of your own wellness and fitness journey because you will be able to pursue Nordic walking on your own and with friends and family.

Afoot Online (registration fee charged)

Afoot Online is paid online coaching for individuals or small groups to get you started on your Nordic walking journey.

How this works:

  • We’ll schedule a date and time to meet via Zoom.
  • Part of the coaching will involve taking videos of yourself Nordic walking and discussing the technique during the Zoom call.

Online or in person? Course or camp? How do decide.

Time

Does your schedule make consistent training times impossible? You may want the convenience of online.

If you’re able to attend classes on a regular schedule, then you’ll enjoy in person sessions.

  • Courses are 3 hours spread over three weeks. Choose a course if you like to break up your training.
  • Camps are 3 hours in one session (we manage breaks, distances, and intensity to keep you from getting fatigued). Choose a camp if you only have one day to devote to your training.

Location

Are you too far away to participate in person? Try online training. Online training brings the training session to you.

In person would make sense if you’re closer to the training location. Check on safety, accessibility, and amenities that meet your requirements.

Sociability

Do you prefer to be around people? In person sessions are just right for you. It’s always fun to support each others’ journeys.

If you want relationship-building during online training, make sure the coach incorporates activities to make it happen.

Subjective preference

No matter the advantages and disadvantages, some people simply prefer one or the other and will do what it takes to make it work. In that case, think through how you can make it work as efficiently as possible.
