Karen Asp

Karen holds Nordic walking world records in the marathon and 20-mile race. She has been a contributing editor for Woman’s Day and fitness columnist for Allure. Today she is contributing health editor for TheBeet.com and contributing writer for VegNews.

She has been featured in Dr. Oz the Good Life, Prevention, O the Oprah Magazine and Oxygen  and  has won four Media Orthopaedic Reporting Excellence Awards from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Karen has been a panelist and speaker for various organizations and events, including the Public Relations Society of America; American Spa Magazine’s Women in Wellness Awards; the National Publicity Summit; and the Global Wellness Summit. 

Her appearances on many talk shows and podcasts include Chef AJ Live’s show Victoria Moran’s Main Street Vegan podcast.

Carol Kutik

As Director of Fitness and Health Promotion for the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, AL, Carol is responsible for the oversight and development of all fitness and personal training programs for individuals with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions. She is also responsible for creating and implementing health promotion activities related to nutrition, exercise, and health education.

You can also see Carol regularly on the Fox 6 “Good Day Alabama” show month providing exercise tips and encouraging all viewers to function at their personal best. As an instructor for Exercise, Etc. Carol also travels the country to provide continuing education to fitness professionals in working with older adults and those with physical disability and chronic medical conditions.

Carol has almost 30 years of experience in the fitness and wellness industry: prior to her position at the Lakeshore Foundation, she worked with Sportsfirst in Birmingham as the Corporate Director of Fitness and Group Exercise.

Carol received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alabama, Birmingham and she is certified by ACE as a personal trainer and as an Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist. She also holds a certification by ACSM as a Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer.
