For #TechniqueTuesday, consider this tip when you’re starting out. It comes from a very good set of videos on YouTube. I’m starting this clip where it covers the main elements of the Nordic walking movement.

  • As you watch the segment, notice how natural the walking stride is. That’s because the gloved poles give you enough control that you can use a full and natural arm swing.
  • Notice also the Nordic walker letting go of the poles on the backswing. The narrator makes sure to mention letting go of the hand. This allows for a full backswing and follow through that engages the back muscles.
