Keynote speaker: Karen Asp

Karen holds Nordic walking world records in the marathon and 20-mile race. She has been a contributing editor for Woman’s Day and fitness columnist for Allure. Today she is contributing health editor for TheBeet.com and contributing writer for VegNews.

She has been featured in Dr. Oz the Good Life, Prevention, O the Oprah Magazine and Oxygen and has won four Media Orthopaedic Reporting Excellence Awards from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Karen has been a panelist and speaker for various organizations and events, including the Public Relations Society of America; American Spa Magazine’s Women in Wellness Awards; the National Publicity Summit; and the Global Wellness Summit.

Her appearances on many talk shows and podcasts include Chef AJ Live’s show Victoria Moran’s Main Street Vegan podcast.

Karen is the author of Anti-Aging Hacks, a collection of more than 200 easy, actionable tips and exercises you can implement right away to help age-proof your body and mind.

Dr. Colleen Geary, Clinical Associate Professor, Exercise Science

Dr. Geary has served The University of Alabama as an undergraduate advisor and now teaches kinesiology as an Associate Professor. She was also recipient of the Most Outstanding Faculty Advisor from The University of Alabama Academic Advisor Association for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Elizabeth Anderson, RDN, LDN

Elizabeth attended the University of Alabama, earning a Bachelors of Science in Food and Nutrition. She completed the coordinated program of Dietetics that included hands-on clinical, food service, corporate wellness, and community nutrition experience leading to sitting for the exam to become a Registered Dietitian.

As a dietitian at an eating disorder treatment facility, Elizabeth worked alongside other medical professionals to help clients with varying types of diagnosed disorders.

Sheri Warren

Sheri Warren is a certified yoga and pilates instructor with over 10 years of experience. She currently teaches classes at 3 different locations around Tuscaloosa, including the Wednesday night Stretch and Strength class at First Baptist Church.

Rev. Keith Pugh, Associate Pastor for Seniors, First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa

Keith Pugh joined the First Baptist family as the associate pastor of First Baptist missions and men’s ministries in January of 2019. Keith joins First Baptist after a long line of serving the Lord in ministry, including as the co-pastor of Alberta Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.

He graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelors in general business education, and received a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife Teresa have three children: Keith, Jr., Katie, and Kameron, and eleven grandchildren.
