I enjoy discovering new places to walk. A useful resource for me was an article a while ago listing state parks in Alabama (US) where I live. It made me think about other people wanting to find new routes to walk.

Here are some ways to find that information:

  • Your local news publishes such lists every so often.
  • If you search the Internet, use search terms like “best trails near (your location)” or some variation.
  • If you play around with AI, ask the system to list walking venues near you. You can embellish your AI prompt with all the parameters you want, and you’ll get a list you can research more.
  • You can use your online maps as well. I use Google Maps, and I put “alabama state parks” in the search box, It responded with an extensive list of parks. I then created a list to which I saved the parks so I could keep track of them.
